Luis Sera usually had a smile ready, and a smart comment at the tip of his tongue. Charming, confident, impossible to ignore, he often masked his genuine sentiments beneath comedy and flirtation. But there was a man with his past pressing on him behind the casual grin. Luis’s was troubled by the role he played in the creation of awful things, by the attempt to make amends, and by the fact that redemption is often formed in the decisions we make when it matters most.

The saffron adds a warm golden richness to the smell expressing Luis's charisma and innate magnetism. Burnt clove is a little smokey and spicy, like the danger that trails him and the blunders he can never quite outrun. Fig leaf has a green earthiness that is both familiar and nostalgic, it reminds the sun-drenched countryside of Spain, where his narrative began.
