La Serpiente de Midgard es la serpiente que envuelve el mundo, mordiéndose la cola, creando infinitos ouroboros con su cuerpo. Se dice que, si suelta su cola, las grandes olas y terremotos que crea liberarán a su hermano Fenrir y a su padre Loki de sus prisiones, y así comenzará el Ragnarok, el fin del mundo.
